CEO’s Welcome Message

Welcome to AVAR 2020 Virtual. This year AVAR’s eagerly awaited annual conference is going entirely online for the first time on account of the devastating pandemic which has been wreaking havoc worldwide.

However, the impact of the virus has not been in the biological space alone. There has, predictably, also been an increasing number of threats and attacks in cyberspace which has left many in dire straits. This is because Lockdowns and travel restrictions have forced an immense increase in working, learning and transacting online, often with insufficient precautionary measures, thus increasing the attack surface manifold for cyber adversaries, who have duly exploited their opportunities in manifold ways. That is why the theme for AVAR 2020 Virtual is ‘The New Normal of Cyber Insecurity’. The onus is on the cybersecurity community to take stock of this unprecedented danger and evolve a robust response in order to promote cyber safety and protect netizens.

AVAR is, and has always been from its inception, a strong proponent of maintaining safety and tranquility in cyber space for all. Via the medium of AVAR 2020 Virtual we are assembling the finest minds in cybersecurity to keep the world cybersafe at a time when our way of life is being threatened like never before.

I warmly invite you to join us at AVAR 2020 Virtual. Together we shall set the benchmark for a New Normal in Cybersecurity.
